MONAZA Group is proud to have been pioneers in the Maldives in many fields of construction, shipping and trading, having achieved remarkable growth over the last four decades and contributing significantly to the development of the Maldives. Indeed it is our pride that these achievements have now formed parts of the country’s overall development story.

Company Profile
Monaza Contracting Company Private Limited

Monaza Contracting Company Private Litmited was founded in the Maldives in 1978 by Mr. Mohamed Naeem, as a small construction compa- ny called Monaza Constructions, with a two story class room block-turnkey contract at Majeedhiya School. It was a break through at that time as there was only one private construction company in existence in Male’. Major construction projects were undertaken by the government then, as there was no qualified construction company in the Maldives.

With the vision and skills of Mr. Naeem he secured financial assistance from State Bank of India, the only commercial bank at the time, and went on to complete several government projects.

In 1993 due to the limitations presented to a proprietorship, the company changed to a limited liability company in the name of Monaza Constructions Pvt Ltd. Since then, Monaza Construction Pvt ltd as grown into a major construction company with over 320 permanent staff in addition to the temporary staff. The company would once again change its name to suit its business ventures. In 2006 the company was again renamed Monaza Contracting Co Pvt Ltd.

The company completed numerous turnkey construction projects. To name a few, a four story – twin office complex for the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, a 100 bed Regional Hospital for the Health Ministry, four story Administrative office complex at Male’ International Airport for the Ministry of Defence and a Two Hundred Bed Tourist Resort Hotel were among the major projects won in competitive bidding.

MONAZA WOOD WORKS

Monaza Carpentry was founded in 1978, as a sole proprietor and was later transformed and incorporated into the group company in 1993. Since then Monaza Carpentry became a specialized wing of MONAZA holding company to cater their project needs that includes the resort construction and government infrastructure projects.
Monaza Carpentry, through years of experience, has now transformed into a standalone unit called Monaza Woodworks - a specialized total solution provider in all wood works. Monaza Woodworks is now proud to have the capacity and capability to undertaking any challenging timber/ wood related contract work anywhere or any level in the country.
The main carpentry is equipped with machinery and skilled manpower that can cater to multiple other projects at the same time, while it’s individual sub-contract groups can carry their own carpentry arrangement, with all skilled manpower, to the project site, so as to achieve real acceleration and speed in the work.
Monaza Woodworks is specialized in the following areas of timer related work.

MONAZA SHIPPING & TRADING

Shipping & Chartering
Monaza Group has been known for operating its own cargo vessels between the sector India and the Maldives. The senior management of Monaza group has long experience in operating and chartering vessels for their own project needs and for the country’s thriving business industry. MONAZA is known for being on the forefront of ship owning and chartering during the initial development stages of the country. It owned / chartered and operated ships between the sector of Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia and United Arab Emirates. Own fleet included MV. Monaka, MV. Monaka Faith, MV. Al Kareem, MV. Falcon, and MV. Falcon-1.
Ship Agency & Stevedoring
MONAZA has been operating in-house shipping and Stevedoring systems from the very inception of the shipping business. It has a workforce whose names are synonymous with large and complex undertakings in ship and cargo handling. The company has presence in all international ports in the country, including the mian hub of Male’ port, Addu Port and Kulhudhufushi Port. We work round the clock to ensure that the vessels under our agency is handled seamlessly with no hiccups.

Trading & Project Supply

Apart from Maritime related services, Monaza Group has got a specialized trade wing, namely Monaza Shipping & Trading that handles volume and weight cargoes such as project supplies for the construction industry and for general trading. We source materials from high grade manufacturers and supply/ deliver through it’s own logistics warehousing arrangement in Thilafushi. We undertake total supply and delivery from the overseas loading port to the project site anywhere in the Maldives. We supply the following project materials on regular basis.
